Workplace Hydraulics Overview Course Description: An introductory course in hydraulic fundamentals providing a study of system components including pumps, cylinders, valves, and plumbing. An introduction to hydraulic circuit analysis and symbols will be included. This course in hydraulic fundamentals has an emphasis on system operation and maintenance. Students do not need any special level of science or math to take this course. The instructor will present material in applied terms. An emphasis to understanding hydraulic components and systems and be able to test and troubleshoot individual components, circuits or entire systems. This course will cover the identification and operation of hydraulic components and how to read hydraulic blue prints. Hydraulic blue prints and hydraulic simulation software will be used to demonstrate and explain all hydraulic components, circuits and principals Objectives: Upon completion of this course, learners should be able to: 1. Explain what a hydraulic system is. 2. Identify the main parts of a hydraulic system. 3. Explain how a typical hydraulic system operates. 4. Explain how a hydraulic system most likely to break down. 5. Explain what senses you would use to detect problems in a hydraulic system.
