Description:
The NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace Compliance ARC FLASH Course meets the OSHA standards for mandatory and every 3-year electrical safety training of workers whose tasks involve either working on or around live and exposed electrical parts and circuits.  Included in this training is information on what workers need to understand and do to be in compliance with the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace standards when working either around or on live and exposed electrical parts and equipment.  This NFPA 70E Compliance Arc Flash course is delivered to personnel in a 100% On-Line format. This course comes complete with section quizzes, final assessments, and Certification of Completion for those finishing the training and proof of Arc Flash Training participation. Participants will also receive topic applicable handouts for reference and practical application.
 
Course Learning Outcomes
1.     Identify 4 hazards associated with electrical energy
2.     State work circumstances where the NFPA 70E standards must be applied
3.     Name 2 examples where the NFPA 70E permits personnel to work on energized electrical circuits
4.     Identify Approach Boundaries around live and exposed electrical parts and circuits
5.     Select the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for each Hazard Category
 
Course Content
NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace Compliance Arc Flash On-Line Course consists of 3 sectional parts:
 
Part 1  Electrical Hazards & Work Practices - 29-minute video
Learning Outcomes:
• Identify Electrical Hazards and related personal injury.
• Describe conditions when work on energized electrical equipment
   may be performed.
• Identify the voltage level at which the NFPA 70E standards must be
   applied.
• Identify the situation where an Electrical Work Permit must be
   initiated.
 
                        Part 1 Quiz – 10 to 15 questions
 
 
 
 
Part 2  Boundaries & PPE Selection - 25-minute video
Learning Outcomes:
• Identify, Explain, and Apply behavior involving electrical hazard
   boundary areas.
• Choose PPE before work in electrical hazard boundary areas.
 
Part 2 Quiz – 10 to 15 questions
 
Part 3  Recognizing & Determining Voltage Levels - 18-minute video
Learning Outcomes:
• Use visual clues, electrical prints, and test instruments to assess
   personal risks to electrical hazards.
• Describe and utilize the voltage test instrument.
 
            Part 3 Quiz – 10 to 15 questions
 
            Final Assessment – 30 to 35 Questions (both multiple choice and True/False)
 
Additional Information
Each course part will have a quiz that learners will take to show understanding before progressing to other course parts. Participants must score an 85% or higher to earn a course completion grade and be issued with a certification of course completion.
