HVACR Apprenticeship - Year 1
A Live Virtual 8 Hour Course.
Course Information:
Basic Heating Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration (HVACR) 1 is an introductory course to present concepts involving the application of modern mechanical refrigeration systems. Topics introduced will involve principles of thermodynamics, pressure/temperature relationships, refrigerants used in refrigeration systems and the operation of refrigeration systems. Student learning focuses on the use of the refrigeration manifold gauge used throughout the HVACR industry.
Climate Control is a physical science that involves principles of mathematics. The learner should come prepared with a basic understanding of general mathematics including Basic Algebra. Basic mathematical functions are used to illustrate various thermodynamic principles throughout the course and laboratory exercises. The practical applications of principles learned will be emphasized. Special topics in HVACR will be introduced to learners according to class interests.
Evaluation and assessment are common tools used in business to gauge continuous improvement of products, processes and task execution. These methods can identify suggested areas of improvement or prove value. To gauge the student progress in his learning, a pre-test administered before the start of this class will be initiated. A post-test will be administered at the end of this class to verify learning.
