Who Should Attend: 

 

All persons who work either on or around electrically live and exposed electrical parts and circuits.

Description:

 

The NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace Compliance Course meets OSHA standards for the electrical safety training of workers whose tasks involve either working on or around live and exposed electrical parts and circuits.  It does NOT include Electrical Safety History, NFPA 70E chronological updates, Safety Training Programs, nor Arc-Flash Boundary Calculations.  It DOES include information on what workers need to understand and do to be in compliance with the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace standards.  This NFPA 70E compliance course is delivered to personnel in either a Live & Interactive Face-to-Face or a Live & Interactive Virtual format.

Course Objectives:  Upon completion of this course the trainee should be able to:

 

1.       Identify 4 hazards associated with electrical energy

2.       State work circumstances where the NFPA 70E standards must be applied

3.       Name 2 examples where the NFPA 70E permits personnel to work on energized electrical circuits

4.       Identify the Restricted Approach Boundary around live and exposed electrical parts and circuits

5.       Select the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for each Hazard Category

 

 

Performance Standards:

 

Upon the successful completion of the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace course, learners will, at an accuracy of 80%:

 

  • Determine when the NFPA 70E standards are to be applied
  • Identify who may perform work in the Restricted Approach Boundary area
  • Select the PPE & Tools for each Hazard Category
  • Differentiate between energized electrical parts/circuits and de-energized electrical parts/circuits
